A computer is certainly one of the most indispensable machines in the contemporary times. You need to make use of computer systems for a number of purposes such as communication, solving problems, documenting things, searching information etc. It is basically made of two major genres of parts: software and hardware. The components which are tangible form the hardware of the systems while the ones which you cannot touch are the software. There are a number of these components which work collectively to enable your computer to work.

The hardware of computer include components including Main board, CPU, RAM, Hard Disk Drive, Graphic Card, Power Supply / Casing, Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, DVD Reader/Writer.

Let us begin with the Main board which is the biggest component inside the system. It is also popularity called as motherboard and a number of important parts including CPU, Ram, Hard Disk drive connect to it. The latest motherboards are available with add-on parts like LAN port, sound card etc. since many vital pert have to be connected to this component, the main board ought to be of fine quality.

Then there is a CPU in every system. It stands for Central Processing Unit and is responsible for the speed of the entire computer. CPUs which are Single Core are more or less outdated and are extremely slow while the most efficient ones are the Dual Core / Quad Core counterparts.

Ram is another important hardware component of computer. It implies Random Access Memory, and this is where the system stores its data for temporary purpose. Typically RAM is measured in a numeric figure called as GB. GB basically tells you about the physical size of information which can be kept in the RAM.

Then there is another part which is called the Hard Disk Drive. Unlike the RAM, it stores data for permanent purpose. It is available in different sizes including 2.5″ and 3.5″.

Graphic Card is another important unit o the computer. It basically ensure the visibility of images onto the screen. Power Supply Unit (PSU) is responsible for ensuring power to a number of parts including the mother board and hard disk drive. Computer Casings make the outer parts of the system. They basically allow you to safeguard a number of computer hardware parts. They also ensure the ventilation and regulation of air flow and thus avert overheating of various parts of the system.

Then the system has CD-ROM / DVD-ROM or DVD Writers which are used to copy data onto the CD or DVD. They are also used to read the information from the CD or DVD. Monitors are another hardware part of the system. They are basically the screen on which the system displays all its information. You can find a number of sizes and types of monitors. Keyboard and Mouse are also a hardware component of the system and are used for giving input and instructions into the system.
